Never take what you have for granted

Appreciate all of the things you have; because somewhere out there, there is someone who has less than you or nothing at all. During Hurricane Sandy I learned a lot about life and how no one should take it for granted. I had a lot of time to think about my life and reevaluate myself, since I didn't have any power. During this time with no power I realized that I have taken advantage of it and I didn't really realize that until now.

Whether it was leaving the computer on or plugged in when I wasn't using it or maybe getting upset when I didn't have anything to watch on TV ( a lot of people may not have a TV to watch stuff). The point is everyone should be grateful for watch they because life is too short. "Life is not always greener on the other side" There are more important things in life and I understand that. I am not saying that I take or took things for granted, but I learned that there are so much more. I will admit that I took electricity for granted at times, but not anymore. I was freaking out because I didn't have power for almost two weeks, then I stopped and thought about people who don't even have a home. I appreciate life so much more and the little things that may seem so small are the things that are big and matter most.

I hope you enjoyed reading this!

  1. I love this post. You're right, we should be thankful everyday for what we have and stop complaining for the things we don't have. The mere fact that we wake up this morning should be enough for us to be happy and be thankful for this life that we have. Very wonderful post, girl!

  7. Amen! Couldn't have said it better myself. As a jersey girl myself it was hard when sandy hit, but I can truly say that it was a blessing as it bought my family together even more. It was like living like the little house in the prairie days. Not sure if you know what show I'm talking about cause I know I'm a bit older than you. LOL anyways, great post girl. xo

Helpful Posts/Sites For Bloggers

Being a blogger is not easy at all, whether it's a hobby or a job. Every blogger works so hard to put out quality work. But sometimes it can be a struggle. While in a blogging rut I came across a lot of posts that have helped me gain confidence. These posts also helped me realize my creativity; all I needed to do was use my noggin! But before you click on the links below, I'm going to explain what these links mean to me. I don't want to bore you but I'm hoping these will help you too.   Everytime I get into a blogging rut I always look at my blog design. Thinking that the design I have is always the problem, I go and I spend money to change it. In reality the major problem was myself. Now don't get me wrong, designs I've had were beautiful it just wasn't for me. During my long "break" or breakdown I did a lot of searching. I'm pretty sure you all heard of Etsy, am I right? This is where I found two shops that have helped me tremendous...

Is there a guide to blogging?

It's been 3 months since I started blogging and I already have 57 followers and I am so grateful and thankful. In a million years I would have never imagined being a blogger. But sometimes I do not feel like one. I mean I know being a successful and known blogger doesn't happen overnight, but sometimes I get discouraged. I have always been someone who is cautious and worries about what people think, so sometimes I feel no one will like what I post. I also feel like, because I am not a well known blogger no one will take the time and give me a chance. I am just being myself, is there something wrong with that? So I started feeling lost and I didn't know what to do; then I thought "Is there a guide to blogging?". Not only did I have these thoughts, but I was also thinking that there are so many wonderful bloggers (beauty, fashion, and lifestyle), so who would even notice my blog. So is there a book to teach people how to blog or am I just overreacting? Sometim...

Finding My Passion For Blogging Again

At some point in time, when your heart isn’t into something you should take a break. Blogging is great and I couldn’t see myself without it. However sometimes it can get overwhelming and that’s what happened to me this year. For about eight months I have not blogged and I thought I was a bad person for that. I have realized that it was best to take the long break. In doing so, I have found so many things I love to talk about. I was holding myself back because I put a label on myself, wanting to be known as a beauty blogger. Sure I attached the lifestyle part, but honestly I don’t really know what that means.  During this year I had time to reflect on where I wanted my blog to go and whether I even wanted to write anymore. Honestly the motivation to blog was not there at all and at that time, I really didn’t care if I continued. I did not want to look at my blog or deal with it. For me I was tired of putting in the work and not getting anything in return. Meaning no ...
