Blogmas Day 5: DIY Winter Lemon Lip Scrub!

During the holidays you find a lot of sales, but on some products the prices can go up. With everyone trying to buy presents and other festive items you want to save as much money as possible. I love DIY posts because I learn something new and I can save money if I'm on a budget. So with that being said, I don't know about you but I experience dry skin and my lips get chapped during the winter. It's important for me to keep my skin healthy looking and moisturized! So I came up with a Scrub of my own, that I wanted to share with you. Now I know there are probably others scrubs like the one I'm sharing, but this is my version.

This is a Lemon Scrub that is great to use for dry chapped lip. It will exfoliate them, leaving you with a smooth feeling. The ingredients in this scrub are is the zest of a lemon, lemon juice, sugar, and olive oil. I chose to use the juice of a lemon because it great for healthy skin looking skin. I am using olive oil because it softens the skin and keep it moisturized. The lemon zest is for the fragrance or "smell" and the sugar is there to act as the actual scrub component, if that makes any sense.

Ingredients
Lemon zest (The Whole Lemon)
1 tsp. Lemon Juice
2 tsp. Olive Oil
5 tbsp. Sugar

Directions
You can use a mason jar on a container depending on how much you choose to make. I use a small container. Side note: I brought the little containers and bottles from CVS, I believe it was about $6. There travel size bottles to put lotions, shampoos and conditioners in but I use it to make scrubs! So after you pour everything into the same container or jar mix it together and that's it. I know it's simple but it makes a huge difference.

I hope you enjoyed reading and let me know what kind of homemade scrubs you like to use!

Being a blogger is not easy at all, whether it's a hobby or a job. Every blogger works so hard to put out quality work. But sometimes it can be a struggle. While in a blogging rut I came across a lot of posts that have helped me gain confidence. These posts also helped me realize my creativity; all I needed to do was use my noggin! But before you click on the links below, I'm going to explain what these links mean to me. I don't want to bore you but I'm hoping these will help you too.   Everytime I get into a blogging rut I always look at my blog design. Thinking that the design I have is always the problem, I go and I spend money to change it. In reality the major problem was myself. Now don't get me wrong, designs I've had were beautiful it just wasn't for me. During my long "break" or breakdown I did a lot of searching. I'm pretty sure you all heard of Etsy, am I right? This is where I found two shops that have helped me tremendous...

Is there a guide to blogging?

It's been 3 months since I started blogging and I already have 57 followers and I am so grateful and thankful. In a million years I would have never imagined being a blogger. But sometimes I do not feel like one. I mean I know being a successful and known blogger doesn't happen overnight, but sometimes I get discouraged. I have always been someone who is cautious and worries about what people think, so sometimes I feel no one will like what I post. I also feel like, because I am not a well known blogger no one will take the time and give me a chance. I am just being myself, is there something wrong with that? So I started feeling lost and I didn't know what to do; then I thought "Is there a guide to blogging?". Not only did I have these thoughts, but I was also thinking that there are so many wonderful bloggers (beauty, fashion, and lifestyle), so who would even notice my blog. So is there a book to teach people how to blog or am I just overreacting? Sometim...

Color Theory:8 Piece Ultimate Eyeliner Set

I love Eyeliner; eyeliner is my go to look. Anytime I had eyeliner my eyes would look like their dressed up! The only eyeliner I have ever wore up until this point was black; because that was the only color I thought was out (crazy of me right?!) Anyway lately I've seen many girls wear different color eyeliner, mainly on YouTube; so I knew immediately I would have to try it. After a while I forgot all about them, until Christmas of 2012 when I received them. I was so excited because my Mom didn't even know I wanted them; now that I am thinking I didn't even ask!  Now I can match up the colors with eyeshadow. Enough of that here's the box they came in and I have the colors listed below. On the back it just talks about the different styles you can do with the eyeliners. For example: The famous winged look (instructions for it are on the back).                                ...
