Advice For Beginner Bloggers

When someone starts a blog, no one really thinks, Oh this is going to be so hard or the amount of promoting I have or even taking pictures. Am I wrong, maybe it's just me. I believe the moment you decide to blog you're opening up yourself to being vulnerable, different risks and all of the things that come with being a blogger. I think it takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there. One thing that comes with blogging is the amount of mistakes that we make.

From my experience, I was clueless and knew nothing about blogging. Honestly I thought that I would write my feelings down and press the publish button. I thought that people would just find my posts automatically, obviously that wasn't the case. So I deleted that blog the same day I started. But months later I created a twitter and decided to give blogging another go. Unfortunately it doesn't stop there.

Blogging takes a lot of work and I commend all my fellow bloggers. Sometimes I wish that there were helpful posts for beginner bloggers, when I first started. I was like a deer in headlights. A couple of months ago, I started fixing up my old posts and I had a moment of reflection. I came so far from where I started, but at the same time I cringed at the mistakes I made. Sorry to drag on the point I'm trying to make, don't there really is a point to all of this.

So new bloggers won't make the same mistake I made and trust me it's a lot, I decided to share some tips to help you get started. I'm not really an expert on whether you should use Blogger or Wordpress, or specific apps and tools you can use for pictures and more. But I can give you some words of wisdom and some helpful advice for beginner bloggers!

Don't Rush The Process

Please take this advice when I say take your time. You might regret the decision you made. Now if you're absolutely sure what you want, then go for it. But make sure you're happy with the choice you make.

Things Don't Happen Overnight

This is the hardest lesson I've learned from over fours years of blogging. The key is to be patient with your readership and social media following.

Stay True To Yourself/ Be Original

This is my number one tip! It's important to be yourself and post the things that you love and are interested in. Don't lie about who you are, because in reality you'll probably have keep being dishonest.

Don't Apologize If You Need A Break

It's nice to see bloggers apologizing for taking a break, but it's ok. I will never hold it against my favorite bloggers, although I will be a little sad. But it's definitely ok to take a break, come back more motivated and inspired! If you start to feeling pressured to blog you might not want to anymore.

Plan Ahead

It's very important to plan ahead. You don't have to necessarily write a complete post, but at least have  an idea of what you want to write and how you're going to write it. Also my advice in regards to writing in advance, would be to take pictures in bulk and edit them. It really cuts the time in half. Then you can focus on writing and schedule posts or tweets.

Stick To A Schedule That Works For You

Blogging for yourself should be the top priority. Stick to blogging on your own terms. It's your blog, so do it when you want to and however often you want to.

I hope you find these tips helpful whether, you've just started blogging or you have been blogging for awhile!

Helpful Posts/Sites For Bloggers

Being a blogger is not easy at all, whether it's a hobby or a job. Every blogger works so hard to put out quality work. But sometimes it can be a struggle. While in a blogging rut I came across a lot of posts that have helped me gain confidence. These posts also helped me realize my creativity; all I needed to do was use my noggin! But before you click on the links below, I'm going to explain what these links mean to me. I don't want to bore you but I'm hoping these will help you too.   Everytime I get into a blogging rut I always look at my blog design. Thinking that the design I have is always the problem, I go and I spend money to change it. In reality the major problem was myself. Now don't get me wrong, designs I've had were beautiful it just wasn't for me. During my long "break" or breakdown I did a lot of searching. I'm pretty sure you all heard of Etsy, am I right? This is where I found two shops that have helped me tremendous...

Color Theory:8 Piece Ultimate Eyeliner Set

I love Eyeliner; eyeliner is my go to look. Anytime I had eyeliner my eyes would look like their dressed up! The only eyeliner I have ever wore up until this point was black; because that was the only color I thought was out (crazy of me right?!) Anyway lately I've seen many girls wear different color eyeliner, mainly on YouTube; so I knew immediately I would have to try it. After a while I forgot all about them, until Christmas of 2012 when I received them. I was so excited because my Mom didn't even know I wanted them; now that I am thinking I didn't even ask!  Now I can match up the colors with eyeshadow. Enough of that here's the box they came in and I have the colors listed below. On the back it just talks about the different styles you can do with the eyeliners. For example: The famous winged look (instructions for it are on the back).                                ...

Finding My Passion For Blogging Again

At some point in time, when your heart isn’t into something you should take a break. Blogging is great and I couldn’t see myself without it. However sometimes it can get overwhelming and that’s what happened to me this year. For about eight months I have not blogged and I thought I was a bad person for that. I have realized that it was best to take the long break. In doing so, I have found so many things I love to talk about. I was holding myself back because I put a label on myself, wanting to be known as a beauty blogger. Sure I attached the lifestyle part, but honestly I don’t really know what that means.  During this year I had time to reflect on where I wanted my blog to go and whether I even wanted to write anymore. Honestly the motivation to blog was not there at all and at that time, I really didn’t care if I continued. I did not want to look at my blog or deal with it. For me I was tired of putting in the work and not getting anything in return. Meaning no ...
