Base vs Primer

This post is a short one, but I thought I would share my opinion about these 2 products. I've had both for two years now. When I brought them it was not at the same time. I purchased an extra NYX eye shadow base because it was on sale at Sears. I believe I purchased the elf eyelid primer from Target.

-A quick note about the elf primer, it's not this color. It's darker, but my camera did not pick up on it. The nyx eye base is the color I chose, there are more choices to choose from.

NYX:
An eye shadow base and an eyelid primer are meant to keep your  makeup lasting all day. But there is a difference. Honestly I really didn't think it was a difference, but I guess the name eye shadow base and eyelid primer makes it obvious! The difference is that although the base helps keep the eye shadow on for a long time it also makes the eye shadow vibrant and the color pops. I've heard that a base does not prevent creasing all the time. In my opinion, I love the NYX eye shadow base. I have not experienced any creasing, but this is only my opinion. You all would have to try it and see if it is good for you. You do not need a lot of it, a little goes along way. Although sometimes I get carried away. Sometimes I use my fingers to apply this, other times I use a makeup brush (any small flat brush).

Elf:
This eye primer is ok, but it's not something I use very often. The good thing about this eye primer is that it comes with an applicator. One thing that is not so great about this primer is that I feel I never have enough on. I do not feel like the eye shadow sticks to the primer. Does that make sense? Don't get me wrong it's not bad, but you would have to see for yourself. If you have tried this primer, what did you think about it?

These are only my opinions about each product. I do like them both, but it's pretty obvious which one I love more. I hope you enjoyed reading! Do you have any suggestions on eye primers or bases that I should try?

Helpful Posts/Sites For Bloggers

Being a blogger is not easy at all, whether it's a hobby or a job. Every blogger works so hard to put out quality work. But sometimes it can be a struggle. While in a blogging rut I came across a lot of posts that have helped me gain confidence. These posts also helped me realize my creativity; all I needed to do was use my noggin! But before you click on the links below, I'm going to explain what these links mean to me. I don't want to bore you but I'm hoping these will help you too.   Everytime I get into a blogging rut I always look at my blog design. Thinking that the design I have is always the problem, I go and I spend money to change it. In reality the major problem was myself. Now don't get me wrong, designs I've had were beautiful it just wasn't for me. During my long "break" or breakdown I did a lot of searching. I'm pretty sure you all heard of Etsy, am I right? This is where I found two shops that have helped me tremendous...

Finding My Passion For Blogging Again

At some point in time, when your heart isn’t into something you should take a break. Blogging is great and I couldn’t see myself without it. However sometimes it can get overwhelming and that’s what happened to me this year. For about eight months I have not blogged and I thought I was a bad person for that. I have realized that it was best to take the long break. In doing so, I have found so many things I love to talk about. I was holding myself back because I put a label on myself, wanting to be known as a beauty blogger. Sure I attached the lifestyle part, but honestly I don’t really know what that means.  During this year I had time to reflect on where I wanted my blog to go and whether I even wanted to write anymore. Honestly the motivation to blog was not there at all and at that time, I really didn’t care if I continued. I did not want to look at my blog or deal with it. For me I was tired of putting in the work and not getting anything in return. Meaning no ...
