Cantu Shea Butter: Moisturizing curl activator cream!

If you knew me, you would know that I am a little skeptic about change. But when I saw this at Walmart I really wanted to try this product. My hair products are all the same. I use products only from Cantu: Shea Butter and Shea moisture. I have been natural for almost a year and in my opinion I made the right choice for me and my hair. If you want to know about this product keep reading! The Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair, Moisturizing curl activator cream is amazing. It produces frizz free, smooth, and bouncy curls. This creates more volume to your hair and adds shine. The best part about this product is that it's sulfate-free and does not include parabens or mineral oil. I have not used sulfate products in almost 2 years. Sulfate is horrible and it strips your hair of its natural oils. The moisturizing curl cream definitely moisturizes your hair, which is awesome. Everyone needs moisture for their hair, but it's a very important essential for a natural/ curly h

5 Blogging Tips!

I have 5 important tips to share with you about blogging. I have read a lot of posts talking about blogging tips, don't get me wrong they are very helpful. I am so grateful that bloggers are nice enough to do these kinds of post. But sometimes I felt like it didn't work for me. You know the saying, "What may work for you may not for me"? Then I realized that everyone is different. 1. Be you - Don't be someone else just to fit in! You're perfect just the way you are.   2. Be different - Being different is good. If everyone was the same that would be very boring. Everyone stands out, because their different and unique. That's why I love reading blogs and seeing the bloggers design it shows who you are or what you like!   3. Stay positive - Things don't happen overnight. I learned that the hard way. Things will happen for you just be patient and keep working hard."Hard work pays off". Just believe in yourself and don&

Blog Changes!

Over the past few weeks I've been making changes to my blog! Like the design of my blog, I decided that I wanted my blog to change. Before I did not know anything about revamping my blog. I did not understand coding or html and I had no idea what design I wanted. I loved my previous design, but I decided that I wanted a new look. I am surprised I could do this, because I really didn't have a lot of experience. I love this design so much! I think it's here to stay! The second thing is my blog name/ title. Life of a Jerseygirl is something I will cherish forever, but I needed something new. When I first started blogging I had no idea what I was doing, I guess that's why I am in this situation! As I am 2 years older, for me Life of a Jerseygirl means that I am sharing my life as a Jerseygirl. There are a lot of Jersey girls out there and I feel now I would not stand out. Plus I feel like the Life of a Jerseygirl sounds like I am showing what life is like as a Jerseygirl.

My 5 essentials for being productive in 2015!

Hi guys! In this post I'm talking about my 5 essentials for being productive. I think this came at a perfect time because I made some goals for myself this year. Before I share them with you, I am going to tell you a little bit about  Kabbage . Their an online  provider of small business loans. They are a great place to turn to if you're looking to start a business and/ or looking to keep your business on the right track! Be sure to check out their "4 ways small business owners can boost their productivity" here: Community page . So here is my list of 5 essentials that keep me productive!   1. Goals - Make goals for yourself. Whether it's daily, weekly, monthly. and even yearly goals. In my opinion goals are important, because they help you reach things you want to accomplish. I have a lot of goals I want to accomplish, and I feel like I already started to. 2. Staying Organized - Plan a to- do list. Making a list of things you want to achi

Inspire!

When I first started blogging I stated that, "if I could inspire at least one person, I would have completed one of my goals"! That remains true. I also said that I will be posting my interests and the things I like. But I will also post inspirational messages. I have done that, but not as much. So I decided that I'm going to write more inspirational posts, besides my regular ones. I will try to do these posts regular, I mean who wouldn't want a little motivational message everyday! The quote pictured above is the perfect way to start this off! Everyone doubts their ability to achieve goals once in awhile. But I want everyone to know that, if you keep striving for your goals and dreams they will happen for you. I learned that things don't happen overnight, but they will happen. Hard work truly does pay off. Know that you can accomplish all of your dreams. As long as you're dedicated and determined all of your achievements will add up!      I hop

NYC eyeliners

I am obsessed with eyeliners, their my go to look. These are my NYC eyeliners, I got from Walmart. They were only about a $1.50, which I think is really good. The two smaller eyeliners are waterproof, which is a big plus for me. This will definitely help to assure that eyeliner stays on for a long time.  The blue eyeliner I wanted because I lost my other one from my color theory collection. The other colors were really pretty so I was pretty excited about having them. This Teal color is so pretty. The picture does not do this justice! In person the Teal looks more like a Green color . It has a shimmer to it and I think it would go perfect with my envy and mermaid eye shadows I talked about awhile ago. Here's the link: Makeup Geek shadows The Smokey Plum is like a deep purple color and I think it would go great with a dark smoked eye look. This last eyeliner is In the Navy. It is the perfect pop of color that would go great with a smoked look and even a neutral look.

Estee Lauder Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

The only makeup remover I have used is the Neutrogena Oil- Free eye makeup remover. But when I tried this Estee Lauder gentle eye makeup remover, I was impressed. My mom does not wear eye shadow, so she gave me her Estee Lauder makeup case. This was one of the first things that caught my attention. Since I was running out of my Neutrogena remover, I needed another one in the mean time. Luckily for me it was included in the case. It works for all skin types and it feels really soft. It is very gentle and in my opinion it's not sticky or greasy at all! Estee's makeup remover does not irritate your eyes and it works good.       I hope you enjoyed reading! What makeup remover do you use?

8 Best Looks from the Golden Globes!

One of the best things about these events are the Red Carpet! Seeing everyone dressed and glammed up is very interesting. What someone wears describes their personality and gives you a little insight of who they are. So I was excited to see all of the actors and actresses step out of their TV/Movie roles. So here are my 8 favorite looks from the Golden Globes.   I think all of these ladies look gorgeous. Their dresses definitely make a statement. In my opinion they all share something in common. Their makeup is very simple and that stands out. It gives that balance needed. To me the gown/ dress is most important, so you don't want it to be overpowered by the makeup look!                                                Gina Rodriguez                                    Jessica Chastain                                                    - In Badgley Mischka                              - In Atelier Versace                                    Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Jamaican Black Castor Oil: Strengthen, Grow & Restore Edge Treatment

YAY! This is my 100th post and what better way to celebrate that, by talking about this product that is great to use!   This styling gel provides nourishment to the edges, while holding them in place. What's great about this product is that it blocks humidity, which keeps it frizz free! I am sure we all have problems with frizzy hair. If you don't you are very lucky. This would still be a great product to use for your edges. It will help them grow and keep away flyways, giving you a sleek look! One of the most important things about this, is that it's very versatile! This works on Natural hair, Chemically Processed hair, Color Treated hair, and Heat Styled hair! So basically we can all benefit from this.   This is from the Shea Moisture line! Moist of my hair products are from Shea Moisture. I am not affiliated with them in any way, I just really like using this brand for my natural hair. It's Sulfate free and Color safe. Which is a plus for me, because
