Have you ever heard anyone saying mayonnaise is good for your hair? For
the past couple of years that is all I have heard. So I did some research for myself and was surprised to see all of the articles on mayonnaise as a hair treatment. These articles say that mayonnaise leaves your hair shinny and soft. Mayonnaise is often treated as a conditioner. Mayonnaise can also be a moisturizer for dry hair and because of the protein and fat in the mayonnaise, it keeps your hair: healthy, shiny, hydrated, and improves the texture to. I have not had the chance to try this and I do not think I will. The main reason is because of the smell, we all know how mayonnaise smell(not that great). Did anyone else try this?
Are there any other interesting hair trends or treatments out there?
These are the links of the articles I have found about mayonnaise:

I didn't know that either, until a few years ago. Thank you! I am also a following your blog, it's great:)
DeleteI knew that mayo was good for your hair, not only is it good for all of those things, but it's also good for killing lice. I had it done on my hair when I was in elementary school when that bloody junk was going around and it kills them nice. So that's a good fact for anyone with Children :)
ReplyDeleteReally! I didn't know that, I know that recently there have been children in schools who have lice. So this is great for parents to know.
DeleteEveryone used mayo as a hair conditioner when I was in high school. I only tried it a couple of times, because I don't like the smell. I don't like mayo, so the smell is overwhelming for me. I would imagine that its moisturizing capabilities come from the oil that it contains.
ReplyDeleteeeks I would never ever try it
ReplyDeleteOh how odd! Haha. Didn't know it could be anything other than fattening :P Nice blog...just came across it this morning and followed :) Keep up the posts!

I apply mayo about once a month. I lightly dampen my hair by combing with a wet comb. On goes the mayo - over the hair length, not the scalp. Cover with a shower cap and towel. I sit for about an hour, sometimes even two. Then I rinse it out with a gentle sulphate-free shampoo. Super-soft hair for me :)

A very significant reason why it is necessary to oil your scalp frequently while it is in a weave is to promote growth by improving circulation to the scalp.
