Nail Care/ Tools & Tips

A while back in a post of mine, I talked all about the "Nutra Nail Hardener" I've been loving. In that post I talked about how I started to do my nails myself, instead of going to the nail salon. If you want to know about it click here: Nail Hardener. I'm going to give you all a little summary about my nails. Over the years I have had a love/hate relationship with my nails, am I the only one? I did not like my nails without tips, they just did not look right to me. But recently for the past few months I decided to do my nails myself. I do my nails every week. That's how long my nail polish stays on. If I am not using polish and I want to give my nails a break, I will use my Nutra Nail Hardener or my L.A Colors Nail Treatment/growth polish. I like to use a quick dry top coat with these, just to ensure it does not come off and so it will dry faster. Keep reading to check out these simple nail tools I use. I also have some tips for you that I use, to care for my nails.

                                                                            Tools
  • Small Nail Clipper: I use the small clipper to cut those hangnails we get every now and then. To be honest these annoy and I am curious to where they come from. Anyway, a small clipper comes in handy because it can fit in the small areas of the nail.
  • Big Nail Clipper: Clips my nails for a shorter look.
  • 2 Nail Shapers/ Files: I use the big nail shaper/ file to brush my nail and file them down. But if I want to be precise with the shape of my nail, I will use the small one. I think this works best because it gets closer to my nail, rather than the bigger nail shaper.
  • Cuticle Pusher: This cuticle pusher works ok, but it's really not the best. It actually hurts to use because of the sharp points at the end of it. I do not remember the brand but it cost about $1.
  • Flat Angled Eyeliner Brush: This is very helpful when polishing my nails. I didn't really use it as a makeup brush, so it came in handy for my nails. I decided to use this to clean up any excess polish that got on the sides of my nails and cuticles.

                                                                             Tips
  • Use whitening toothpaste to whiten/ clean your nails.
  • Before polishing the nails put Vaseline or tape around the nails and cuticles. The nail polish will stick to the Vaseline, but will be easy to take off. The tape will ensure the polish will not stick to and around the nails.
  • If you don't have cuticle oil or cream, Vaseline will work just as good. If you do not like Vaseline, you can also use Olive Oil it doesn't just work for the hair and skin.
  • If your nail polish does not seem shiny after a couple/few day, rub Vaseline on them.
I hope you have enjoyed reading this post! What tips or tools do you have for your nails?

My Thoughts While Watching Makeup Tutorials!

I love watching makeup tutorials so much that, three hours have literally passed. I remember watching my first ever makeup tutorial. It was from Dulce Candy and I was thinking wow if only I was that talented. The title of her video is called "Makeup For Beginners"! Now lets be honest I am not a makeup artist nor do I have the talented of creating nice makeup looks. I don't even where makeup except the basics. So I decided to share with you the things I think about, while watching YouTube videos and looking at makeup pictures. You will probably be surprised and hopefully you'll have a little laugh. If not then I really made a fool out of myself with this one! I actually laugh at myself for this, which means I'm probably weird now! Anyway, here's my thoughts while watching makeup tutorials. "That Highlight Though." "Wing On Point." "Girl you better work it, wing on fleek. Is that word still in?" "I Wish I Could P...

Self Love Is So Important!

Has there ever been a time where you felt unworthy? Unworthy of someone loving and caring for you. Have you ever disliked yourself so much, to the point where you would go into a dark place? I ask these questions not to necessarily get an answer back, but to let you know this happens to a lot of people. Self love is so important and everyone should feel good about themselves. Unfortunately in today's world that isn't the case at all. Society puts a label on what people should and should not look that. People judge one another 24 hours, 7 days a week and it's wrong. I've wanted to write this for a while now, but sometimes it's difficult. You don't want to offend anyone, but you also want to bring awareness to this topic. I'm not an expert on how to love yourself, but I do know what it's like to not have confidence. I know what it feels like to not think you're good enough, even when people tell you that you are.    I use to think I was I wa...
