Revlon Essentials Volume Booster Styler!

When it comes to hair dryers I haven't had the best of luck in the past. The dryer either broke as soon as I bought it or made my hair frizzier. I instantly gave up on finding a dryer that would suit all of my hair needs. With the increase in price for hair dryers you have to decide whether you spend a lot of money or continue air drying! But I guess you pay the price for beauty.   Winter was right around the corner so I knew I needed to find a dryer fast, unless I wanted to catch a cold from wet hair. One day while in Walmart my mission was to find a decent, affordable dryer. In the back of my mind I didn’t think this was possible, especially after I looked in the dryer section for 10 minutes. The prices went from $20 to $50 and I was not sure about the brands either. I’ve always used the brand Conair for my hair tools, not for any specific reason though. But I realized I should step out of my comfort zone and try something new, that’s when I found the Revlon Esse...

Netflix: Haunting Of Hill House

I’m a very picky person when it comes to watching movies and tv shows. I want to be intrigued right away. That’s probably a lot to ask for but it’s almost the only way to grab my attention. I barely watch new shows and I just put the old ones on repeat most days. But every time I came across the Haunting Of Hill House on Netflix, I was interested. But I never got around to watching the show right away. It wasn’t until I came across an article about one of the episodes, that made me watch it about 4 days ago. Don’t worry I don’t give away spoilers. You have to be careful with shows like this one, because you don’t want to be repetitive. So at first I was skeptical of watching this because I was thinking this is the same kind of show, where a family is being haunted. Before I continue I just want to say that it’s nothing how I expected it to be. The way the show was written and directed was out of this world. The acting was phenomenal and it kept me wondering, what the nex...

3 Things That Annoy Me With Social Media

Social media is great for networking,  meeting people, sharing your unpopular opinions, promoting yourself and creating friendships. Well those are the great things about social media and the downside is cringeworthy. But with every positive, comes a negative right?  To Follow Or Not To Follow Have you ever been followed by someone, only to have them unfollow you minutes after? Like how did this even start and why is it still happening for that matter. Before I continue, I’m not talking about unfollowing when you lose interest in their social media. For example, it happens often with follow threads. First off, these threads are here to help everyone grow a following. The rules are simple: Retweet this tweet and then follow everyone who retweets as well. Half of the people don’t bother following back and then the other half follows you momentarily. Honestly why bother even participating in the thread. But what’s even worst, is when someone just wants to build ...

The Myth About Blogging

If blogging is so easy, then everyone would be making a living from it. When I started blogging about six years ago I had no clue what I was doing. I didn’t really know anyone and there were no post to help me. Today blogging has become so much bigger and to see this makes me happy. But I’m not really hear to talk about the positive things that come with blogging. I see so many people on social media believing blogging is just a way to make money, but they have no idea this is far from the truth.  Don’t get me wrong you can make money, but it won’t get you the million dollar house you’ve been looking for. But if you tell someone who doesn’t understand, they will say you’re a liar. What a lot of people fail to realize is that, there is a whole process that goes into blogging. Whether blogging is a hobby or a full/ part-time job it’s difficult. I find it insulting sometimes when non bloggers go on a rant, saying blogging is not hard work and all you do is get free stu...

Finding My Passion For Blogging Again

At some point in time, when your heart isn’t into something you should take a break. Blogging is great and I couldn’t see myself without it. However sometimes it can get overwhelming and that’s what happened to me this year. For about eight months I have not blogged and I thought I was a bad person for that. I have realized that it was best to take the long break. In doing so, I have found so many things I love to talk about. I was holding myself back because I put a label on myself, wanting to be known as a beauty blogger. Sure I attached the lifestyle part, but honestly I don’t really know what that means.  During this year I had time to reflect on where I wanted my blog to go and whether I even wanted to write anymore. Honestly the motivation to blog was not there at all and at that time, I really didn’t care if I continued. I did not want to look at my blog or deal with it. For me I was tired of putting in the work and not getting anything in return. Meaning no ...

Nuxe Paris Body 24 hr Moisturizing Lotion For Dry Skin

I love Winter because of the snow and of course Christmas! But I don’t like the dry skin, I’m left with. So it’s very important to find good products, that moisturizes and hydrates my skin. That’s when I got the Nuxe Paris Body, 24hr moisturizing body lotion from Notino.  Notino  is my go to place for beauty products! They always have a nice range of skincare, hair and makeup products at an affordable price. You’ll also find good sales, which is a plus.      Nuxe 24 hr body lotion provides a nourishing formula for supple skin. Included in this moisturizing lotion is wheat extracts and wood to help provide the moisture you need for healthy skin. The sweet Almond and Sunflower oil reverses dryness of the skin. Most importantly the Almond and orange flower petals helps soothe and soften the skin.  The lotion is creamy but does not have a thick consistency. The smell is pleasant and is not strong at all. For a 6.7 oz bottle that costs about $17...

Origins Makeup Removing Jelly

The one thing anyone who wears makeup hates, is the process of taking it off. Taking off makeup is a long task that no one wants to deal with. Honestly, that’s why I think people go to sleep still wearing makeup. But what’s  even harder, is trying to find a product that takes off all of your makeup. Some products I’ve used in the past, only takes off like 75% and then I’m left trying to scrub the rest off. This gets really irritating because you have makeup smear stains on your face, from trying to take it off.     But when I had the opportunity to try the brand Origins, I couldn’t resist. Up until I tried this I had no idea about this, I’ve never heard of this brand so it was definitely new to me.  The Origins Original Skin Cleansing  Makeup Removing Jelly product is a great one! I’m so use to makeup wipes, so I wasn’t sure I would like this. This removing jelly is good for people with dry, normal and oily skin. It removes dirt, impurities, eye ...

Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion

This Winter has not been the best for my skin, it’s almost dryer than the desert. Maybe I’m exaggerating a little but, it’s really bothering me. Finding different products for my skin use to be hard because, I didn’t know my skin type. I have combination skin and believe it or not it changes during this cold season. One problem that is constantly annoying is my hands. Around my knuckles and between my fingers it’s dry. If the dryness is bad, I experience cracks. Sometimes it’s painful for me, especially when I apply lotion. The cracks of my hands look like tiny scratches and it makes me cringe. Luckily I don’t bleed, I may sound extreme but I’ve seen this happen to people before.  I recently about two months ago, for my first tattoo! When the tattoo process was over I had to follow the aftercare instructions. One of them being, to use a fragrance free lotion. The two options they gave me were, Lubriderm and Curel. I ended up getting the Lubriderm because I wasn’t ju...

Nuxe Reve De Miel Ultra Comforting Face Cream

The first thing people look at when talking to you, is most likely your face. My face is one of my biggest insecurities, because of my blemishes and redness around my nose and at the start of my cheeks. I have a love hate relationship with my face, sometimes my skin looks good and other times it's a mess. Finding a product(s) to suit my skincare need is always a challenge. I have used some really good products, but actually creating a routine that will give me the results I am looking for has proven to be difficult. If one product helps sensitive skin that's great, but then it might not help dryness. So looking for an all around product that can do everything would be nice. I became a fan Nuxe reve de miel products, because they really have helped my skin. Just like a lot of the products I use, I got the product I will be talking about from Notino . Their products come in a variety for women and men, plus it's affordable. The Nuxe reve de miel ultra comforting face ...

5 Things I Wish I Knew Before Starting A Blog

This year will be six years of blogging for me and I still feel like I’m just starting. Back when I first decided to blog, it wasn’t as popular as it is now. I had no one to talk to for advice. There wasn’t really any post on how to start a blog and if there was, I didn’t know about it. I’m not one to really give advice on what to, I can only share my experience and hopefully you’ll learn a better way to do things. I do have some things I wished I would have known when it comes to blogging, but I don’t regret them because it helped me become better. So here are the five things I wish I that I knew before blogging!  Promoting Your Blog  I remember when I first started blogging, I had no clue what I was doing. To be honest I was so consumed with views and numbers. But who isn’t when you first start blogging? I wanted people to read what I had to say and the things that interests me. I didn’t realize that promoting your blog, was the key to get views and comment...

44 Thoughts While At The Movie Theater

Is it me or does a million thoughts run in your mind, when you are out in public? When for me the movie theater is the worse. I'm constantly thinking about seats, germs and most of all the noise. So I decided to share the thoughts I have while at the movies and maybe you have them too!   Why is the line so long, don't people have anything else to do. Hopefully by the time I get in front of the line my movie won't be sold out. I haven't been to the movies in a while, is it still the same price. What snacks should I get. Will I look like a pig if I get every kind of candy. Oh, I can't forget about the popcorn.  Of course I need something to drink with my popcorn. I want something to wash down all that salt.  Finally I'm almost in the front of the line.  Why are people staring at me, is there something on my face.  This movie is rated r do I have my id with me, what if I don't.  It's my turn now, thank goodness.  Cra...

Blushed Neutrals Palette By BH Cosmetics!

Before I continue I just want to say how positive and focused I’ve been so far this year. I’m almost ready to conquer the world right now, sort of. This post is a new one but an old one if that makes sense. I’ve had these pictures for about a year ready to use for this first impressions review, but I wasn’t in the blogging mood at the time. So anyway, if you’ve been reading my blog for awhile or this is your first time I love BH Cosmetics. Their products are affordable and made of good quality, especially their eye shadow palettes!    The palette in this “swatch review” is the Blushed Neutrals Palette by Bh Cosmetics. This is 26 color eye shadow and blushes that includes 3 finishes: Matte, Shimmer and Satin! I love Neutral eye shadow, not only are they pretty but these are simple and not over the top loud. So this would be great for a more subtle look.  Row 1: This row of colors are really pretty, they are very vibrant. It gives that pop of color and shimme...

9 Guilty Pleasures

We all have those guilty pleasures that just won't go away. So I decided to share 9 of my guilty pleasures with you. Some of these are a habit I just can get rid of. Others have become apart of my routine!    Cracking My Knuckles:  This is a habit I've had for a long time. I can't help cracking my knuckles, actually it's pretty soothing for me. I find myself doing this without me realizing it. Depending on my mood, whether I'm upset or nervous I crack knuckles.    Washing My Hands Constantly:  I guess you can say I don't like germs. It's like every few minutes I'm washing my hands. I don't even have to touch anything.    YouTube Videos:  I'm obsessed with watching YouTube videos and I can watch them for hours. It's like one video leads to another. Some of my favorite channels are vlogs, beauty, food and comedy!    Comic Book Movies:  I love comic book movies and I'm pretty sure I've watched most ...

Tips For Natural Hair During The Winter

If you’re someone with natural hair you understand the struggles we go through during the Winter time. Our hair goes through constant phases and sometimes our hair routine changes. For me it feels like during the Winter I have to change up my whole routine. But over the past four years, I’ve learned what works and does not work for my hair. I also learned about natural hair in general, so I decided share some tips to get you through the Winter season.  Protective Hairstyles  Every now and then it’s important to give your hair a much needed break. From all the stress the hair has gone through, whether you have straightened once in awhile or combing it’s time to put your hair in an untouchable hairstyle. There are so many options out there like: braids, twists, faux locs, and wigs!  Moisturize If you’re like me then your hair tends to get dry during Winter and Summer. It’s crucial to keep the hair moisturized, because it’s more re prone to being brit...

Here's To 2018

Happy New Year everyone! I know what you’re thinking, “she’s days late”. But I’ve gone through some life lessons and I wasn’t ready to start blogging again. Last year was not the best for me and I’ve seen it was wasn’t for a lot of other people as well. Blogging wasn’t something I was into last year, I just didn’t want to force. I was not confident in my photos and which made my confidence go down. To be honest I had 10 posts in my draft ready to go, but what use is that without a picture. Anyway this year is a fresh start for me and I’m very optimistic and positive that this year will be a good one. For Christmas I got a planner and I’ve wrote down all my goals I want to accomplish by the end of this year. For once I wrote down blog posts I’m uploading for 3 months, that’s definitely a first. In the past I’ve said I don’t need a planner and it’s ok to go against the grain and not be an organized blogger. Today I will admit that that’s not working for me anymore and it’s import...
