Netflix Movie Birdbox

When a new movie comes out, I don’t jump on the bandwagon to watch it. Unless I planning to watch the movie ahead of time that’s a different case. I’m not usually persuaded to watch anything, but seeing everyone on social media talking about the movie birdbox I had to see it for myself. Before watching I heard the movie just came out, but I never saw the trailer. Seeing all of the memes on Twitter and Instagram made me wonder what in the world was this movie actually about. I wasn’t sure whether it was a comedy, drama or suspense film. So I jumped on the bandwagon and saw the movie. If you’re not a fan of spoiler alerts than, I recommend you stop reading this.

So I’m not going to lie, when the movie first started I was a little skeptical. I thought it was going to be boring because it didn’t really start off being interesting. Well I was way off base with this one. So after Malorie found out she was pregnant, she went to the hospital for a check up. This is when everything starts getting weird. As she’s leaving a woman is randomly hitting her head against the window. Now in the beginning of the film, Malorie and her sister Jessica saw on the news that everyone in other parts of the world people were not acting normal. So I guess she realized that whatever is happening has made its way to where she’s at. This is where everything starts getting intense.

While in the car with her sister, everyone outside is acting erratic and running from something. We don’t really know why at first. Then her sister is staring into space while driving and something is wrong with her eyes. All of a sudden they get into a car crash. Fortunately both manage to get out, but the sister walk into on coming traffic and gets killed. I was low key shook and thinking what the heck did I get myself into. So why running to safety Malorie falls and this woman goes against her husband’s wishes and goes to save her, unfortunately she too got infected and died.

That’s when the characters Tom and Lucy helped her and they went into the house. I’m not going to bore you with every little detail but what I will say is that being in a house with strangers you don’t know is already nerve wracking. The character Doug was a jerk and he did not like Malorie, because was the reason his wife died. Other than that, he was just a pain in my but. But that all changed in the end.

Other characters like Greg, Charlie, Felix, Olympia and Cheryl we’re also in the house. Basically I was so upset that Greg sacrificed himself believing whatever this monster was, would not hurt him through the electronics. He was selfless, but was not thinking at all. After him everything started getting really intense amd serious. A few of them went to the store and once again, Doug being an airhead said they should stay at the store and forget about everyone else. During their time at the store Malorie found birds that proved to be helpful in the movie, by knowing when this unknown would arrive. Charlie sacrifice himself by running out the store and tackling someone who was possessed.

Since then they went back to the house and this is where I became pissed of, Lucy and Felix took the car and ditched everybody. So if you watched it you could pretty much guess where they ended up. Later on in the movie Olympia let this strange guy Gary in and I was skeptical with that because he seemed off. So obviously Doug had problem it like always but I actually agreed with him. But because everyone didn’t like him with good reasons, Lucy ended up knocking him out and let locked him in a room. So I know I said I wasn’t going to tell you everything, but I also didn’t want to leave a big space in between either. So the next day Malorie and Olympia were on the brink of giving birth and that’s when sh** hit the fan.

We all found out that the house should have listened to Doug and not let Gary in. Gary is one of those people who survived the plague just so he can infect more people. But you would have to see how we figured it out, if you haven’t watched the movie. After that he tried to kill Doug by opening the garage but Doug outsmarted him and didn’t look. So he made his way upstairs to infect everyone else. Cheryl and Olympia was some of his victims which is really sad because the girl just gave birth. He also knocked out Tom but he didn’t die. Before he tried to kill Malorie and the babies came to the rescue and shot Gary in the arm before he ended up dying. Tom managed to get Gary and he save Malorie and the kids.

So five years had passed and they are taking care of the kids. The kids names through me off, just like everyone else but I understand why. She name them boy and girl because she didn’t really want them to have identities just in case they didn’t make it. Moving forward they got in contact with people who gave them directions to a location. Unfortunately people that were infected by still survived caught them. Tom ended up killing them but he took his blindfold off for the last one and died. That was one of the saddest moments of this movie.

After that while on their journey, Malorie needed one of the kids to look out so she could steer the boat. Boy which is her son and real child volunteered, she threw a small fit. I was low key shook and I felt bad for girl because she felt alone. But then Malorie decided that no one would look. In the end they all made it to the location which was a place for the blind which was a very powerful moment in the movie. Some people were able to see, that’s how Malorie and the kids got in. Malorie saw her doctor from the beginning there which was a nice thing because she’s a familiar face. When the doctor asked what the kids names were and they said boy & girl I laugh a little because of her facial expression. But what special about this moment is that she named girl after Olympia, her real mom and boy after Tom.

I really enjoyed the movie and I think you should watch it, if you haven’t. A lot of people said this film was overrated and in my opinion I don’t think so. Everyone has their own taste in movies and it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. But for me it’s a deeper meaning than a woman running with two kids named boy and girl. Birdbox has so many messages in the film, it’s all about paying attention and understanding. For me what I took away from this movie is survival. More importantly it symbolizes trust, loyalty, sacrifice, love, betrayal, selfishness and how far you will go to survive.

I hope you enjoyed reading and if you got to this post in my post, you’re a trooper and I appreciate you. I did not realize how much I’ve written. I basically summarized the movie, sorry about that!

Finding My Passion For Blogging Again

At some point in time, when your heart isn’t into something you should take a break. Blogging is great and I couldn’t see myself without it. However sometimes it can get overwhelming and that’s what happened to me this year. For about eight months I have not blogged and I thought I was a bad person for that. I have realized that it was best to take the long break. In doing so, I have found so many things I love to talk about. I was holding myself back because I put a label on myself, wanting to be known as a beauty blogger. Sure I attached the lifestyle part, but honestly I don’t really know what that means.  During this year I had time to reflect on where I wanted my blog to go and whether I even wanted to write anymore. Honestly the motivation to blog was not there at all and at that time, I really didn’t care if I continued. I did not want to look at my blog or deal with it. For me I was tired of putting in the work and not getting anything in return. Meaning no one was r

E.l.f. Eye Brushes

Although this haul is very small, I just wanted to share with you what I brought. I decided to buy brushes, because I needed them more! The first brushes I were eco-friendly and were really good, but their were more face brushes, then eye brushes. So that wasn't really helpful to me. It was only one eye shadow brush. I rarely shop online, I always go to the store. But I was bored one day and I guess this is what happened! I am really excited to try these brushes! I also brought some things from BH cosmetics, but that's for another post! Eye Shadow Brush The eye shadow brush is supposed to help apply the eye shadow evenly and make it easier. This sounds good, because the brushes I used in the past were tough and hard. It seemed like I had to put a lot of eye shadow on, before it actually showed up on my eyes. Blending Eye Brush This brush is supposed to blend the eye shadows, while softening dramatic edges and lines. This is really good, because before I ha
