Thanksgiving isn't always about the food, although I enjoy that's not the main purpose. Sometimes the meaning gets lost and people forget. I have a lot of reasons to be thankful and as a quick disclaimer for you, the use of the word thankful will be seen multiple times in this post. I'm thankful to be alive and I'm truly grateful. There are many people that don't get the chance to say that. Even though I have moments where I'm upset or angry or sad, I stop to think about how thankful I am. I am blessed to have a roof over my head and clothes to wear. I'm also thankful I have food to eat. But then I stop to think about the people who don't have these things and it makes me very sad. No one deserves to be homeless and without clothes to wear and food to eat. Just thinking about it now brings tears to my eyes. To be honest even when it's not Thanksgiving, I think about things like this a lot.
Sometimes I feel guilty when I complain about not having something I wanted. I don't really complain anymore because the things I say I want or need isn't as important as someone needing a place to call home. I'm so grateful for my family as a whole, but most importantly my mom and sister! I can always count on them being here for me and I'm so blessed to have them in my life. There are some people that don't have this, so I am grateful for them everyday. Thanksgiving is also a day to reflect on how far you've come or where you want to be. I've grown as a person and I can't wait to see what life has in store for me. There are so many things I'm thankful for but, I'm going to name one more thing. Being a blogger is what I'm also thankful for. Although it's not in real life, I've talk to the most coolest, kind, and awesome people who also blog. Does that make any sense? Blogging has made me a better writer and it also gave me a little confidence, so I'm very thankful for that!
It does not have to be Thanksgiving for someone to be thankful and you don't have to celebrate it to be thankful either! With that being said, what are you thankful for?
